Shipping Policy

Shipping-only fulfillment details for Smooth Roots bodycare orders.

Before launch, confirm actual processing times, carriers, shipping regions, insurance rules, and warm-weather packaging language.

1. Shipping-only launch

Smooth Roots currently plans to fulfill orders by shipping only. Local pickup, delivery, wholesale fulfillment, and in-person exchange options are not available unless specifically offered at checkout or in writing by Smooth Roots.

2. Processing time

Orders are typically prepared for shipment within the processing window shown at checkout or on the product page. Processing time is the time needed to prepare, pack, and hand the order to the carrier. It does not include carrier transit time.

Because Smooth Roots products may be made or packed in small batches, processing times can vary during product launches, holidays, sales, weather events, ingredient delays, or high-volume periods. If no specific shipment time is provided, the store should only accept orders when there is a reasonable basis to believe orders can ship within the legally required timeframe.

3. Shipping rates and carriers

Shipping options, carrier availability, delivery estimates, and rates will be shown at checkout before payment is completed. Final costs may depend on destination, package weight, selected shipping method, and any promotions or free-shipping thresholds offered at the time of purchase.

Smooth Roots may use USPS, UPS, FedEx, or another carrier or shipping service. Carrier choice may change based on location, service availability, price, delivery reliability, and product handling needs.

4. Delivery estimates

Delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed unless a specific guaranteed service is expressly offered and purchased. Carrier delays, severe weather, holidays, incorrect addresses, customs review, and other events outside Smooth Roots’ control may affect delivery timing.

5. Address accuracy

Customers are responsible for entering a complete and accurate shipping address before placing an order. Smooth Roots is not responsible for delays, lost packages, extra postage, or returned orders caused by incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable addresses provided by the customer.

If you notice an address mistake, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to help if the order has not yet shipped, but we cannot guarantee changes after an order has been submitted.

6. Tracking information

When available, tracking information will be sent to the email address or phone number provided at checkout. Tracking updates are controlled by the carrier and may take time to appear after a label is created.

7. Heat-sensitive products

Some bodycare products, including whipped tallow lotion, balms, creams, or oil-rich formulas, may soften, settle, melt, or change texture during warm-weather transit. Texture changes do not always mean the product is unsafe or unusable, but they may affect the whipped appearance or feel of the product.

Smooth Roots may adjust shipping days, packaging, or carrier options during hot weather. Customers should retrieve packages promptly, avoid leaving products in mailboxes or vehicles, and allow softened products to return to room temperature before opening when appropriate.

8. Lost, delayed, or stolen packages

Once a package is accepted by the carrier, transit is largely controlled by the carrier. If tracking shows a package is delayed, please allow the carrier time to update the tracking status. If tracking shows delivered but you did not receive the package, check the delivery location, mailbox, household members, neighbors, building office, and carrier delivery details.

Smooth Roots is not responsible for theft or loss after carrier-confirmed delivery, but we will review customer concerns in good faith. Shipping insurance, replacement, or claim options may depend on the carrier, shipping method, and circumstances.

9. Damaged packages

If your order arrives damaged, contact Smooth Roots promptly with your order number, photos of the outer packaging, photos of the damaged item, and a description of the issue. Damage claims are easier to review when reported quickly and documented clearly.

10. Shipping restrictions

Smooth Roots may limit shipping to certain states, regions, or countries depending on product type, carrier availability, weather conditions, legal requirements, and business capabilities. Available destinations will be determined by the checkout settings in effect at the time of purchase.

11. Order changes and cancellations

Order change or cancellation requests must be sent as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee changes or cancellations once an order has been packed, labeled, or transferred to the carrier.
